First 'Hellboy' Reboot Banner Teases the Blood Queen
Movie

The new artwork, which lists the title of the movie simply as 'Hellboy', features the titular character as well as what appears to be Milla Jovovich's villainous character.

AceShowbiz - Here's a glimpse into the new "Hellboy" movie. Milla Jovovich took to her Instagram page on Tuesday, April 10 to share the first banner of the upcoming reboot, featuring the titular character as well as a female character who appears to be the Blood Queen.

It's not an actual picture of the actors as the characters though, as the movie uses comics art for promotional purpose currently. The movie's promo artwork for the Cannes Film Festival also uses a similar imagery of the titular character.

The movie, which has been known as "Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen", apparently will simply be called "Hellboy" as written on the banner. Jovovich captioned it, "The Blood Queen has risen. Hellboy 2019 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles," along with a location when the banner is being displayed.

The former "Resident Evil" star will play the villainous Blood Queen, while "Stranger Things" actor David Harbour is cast as the red-skinned demonic hero, who was made popular by Ron Perlman in the two original films directed by Guillermo del Toro. Ian McShane will portray the demonic hero's adoptive father Professor Trevor Broom, and Sasha Lane is set to play the hero's love interest Alice Monaghan, a woman saved from fairies.

Other cast members include Penelope Mitchell as elder witch Ganeida, Daniel Dae Kim as Major Ben Daimio, a rugged Japanese-American military member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, Sophie Okonedo as Lady Hatton, Alistair Petrie as Lord Adam Glaren, a high-ranking member of the Osiris Club, and Brian Gleeson as Merlin, a wizard.

To be directed by Neil Marshall ("Game of Thrones", "Constantine", "Hannibal"), the film is about Hellboy going to England, where he must defeat Nimue, Merlin's consort and the Blood Queen. But their battle will bring about the end of the world, a fate he desperately tries to turn away.

The "Hellboy" reboot is set for a U.S. release on January 11, 2019.
