Brendan McLoughlin has been targeted by reporters ever since the 'Somethin' Bad' singer made public her secret wedding to the New York Police Department officer.

AceShowbiz - Miranda Lambert's new husband, Brendan McLoughlin, has reportedly been taken off of police patrol due to being hounded by photographers and fans.

The country singer shocked fans when she recently announced she had wed the New York Police Department officer after a whirlwind romance.

And McLoughlin, who normally patrols the bustling Times Square neighbourhood on foot, has been temporarily reassigned to another position because he has been constantly targeted by members of the public and reporters, according to TMZ.

Editors at the website report that a major U.S. TV news outlet showed up on the front steps of the NYPD's Midtown South Precinct office and asked to speak with McLoughlin, but were turned away.

The officer will be placed on driver duty for a few weeks while things die down, reports TMZ.

Just hours after breaking the news of their secret wedding on Saturday, February 16, 35-year-old Lambert and her new husband were spotted out in New York City's SoHo district, smiling as they walked and holding hands.

In the pictures obtained by People, the couple's wedding bands are on full display with Lambert also seen wearing a solitaire diamond engagement ring.

The "Tin Man" hitmaker reportedly wed McLoughlin on January 26 in Davidson County, Tennessee. The couple met in November, just days after the McLoughlin welcomed his first child – son Landon James – with former girlfriend Kaihla Rettinger, People reports.

This is the second marriage for the country star, who was previously wed to Blake Shelton. They divorced in 2015 after four years of marriage.
