AceShowbiz - Miranda Lambert, the most decorated artist in Academy of Country Music Awards history with 33 wins, stands poised to add to her record at the upcoming 2026 ACM Awards. The ceremony will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 17, where she is nominated for eight awards, including the prestigious female artist of the year and song of the year categories.
Brooks & Dunn, nominated for duo of the year, also have the opportunity to extend their impressive streak in the ACM Awards record books. They currently hold the most wins in the duo category with 17 and boast the highest total wins by a duo at 26. This year’s nominations could further cement their legacy.
In the group category, Old Dominion is back in the running after surpassing Rascal Flatts last year with eight wins for group of the year. Their nomination again in 2026 puts them in a prime position to widen their lead in this category.
Another notable contender is Chris Stapleton, who has six nominations this year. A single win would tie him with George Strait for the most ACM Awards earned by a male artist at 19. Additionally, winning male artist of the year would match Merle Haggard’s record for most victories in that specific category, which stands at six.
The ACM Awards have specific guidelines regarding what counts as a win. Only awards voted on by ACM members are included in official tallies. Honorary distinctions such as milestone, decade, or humanitarian awards do not contribute to an artist’s official win total. Furthermore, artists may receive credit for multiple wins in some categories if they contributed in different roles, such as producer or songwriter. For example, they can earn an additional award for producing album of the year, single of the year, or music event of the year, or as a producer/director in visual media categories alongside the song of the year as a songwriter.
To recap, here are some of the top ACM winners and their records: Miranda Lambert leads with 33 overall wins. She earned her first ACM Award in 2007 as top new female vocalist and won her most recent awards—entertainer of the year and video of the year in 2022. The latter was for her collaboration with Elle King on “Drunk (and I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” Now, Lambert is up for eight more awards in 2026.
The ACM Awards, produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Eldridge—a joint venture of Eldridge Industries and Billboard’s parent company Penske Media—continues to celebrate country music’s biggest stars. The 2026 ceremony promises intense competition as record-holders vie to extend their legacies on the Las Vegas stage.
