AceShowbiz - Laverne Cox has fractured her foot - after slipping over in the rain.
The "Orange Is the New Black" star took to Instagram over the weekend , February 16-17, to share a stunning selfie, and tell fans about her unfortunate injury.
"Was going to post the pic I just took of my elevated bone fractured foot but that felt too personal and too depressing," she wrote alongside the snap. "Enough people probably don't show the tough times on social media and just show the shiny moments, myself included."
"Maybe it's just cause I want to pretend that I didn't slip in the rain yesterday and fractured a bone in my foot. I really would prefer that it didnt happen. Thus the natural light selfie when i was beat for the Gods and could walk without crutches. #TransIsBeautiful #denial."
She was flooded with supportive messages from her fans after her revelation, including one who wrote, "You'll be back in fierce heels soon enough! I broke my foot walking my dogs; these things sometimes just happen. Take care of you!"
Laverne had earlier told her Twitter followers that she'd had to head to the hospital, and was given a good laugh when she got there.
"At urgent care now and the xray tech just asked if there's any chance I am pregnant. I just cackled. Lmao (laugh my a*s off)," she wrote.

Laverne was born male but started to undergo gender reassignment surgery in her twenties. She is now one of the most famous transgender actresses in Hollywood, and has starred as Sophia Burset in the hit prison-based drama since 2013. She's also appeared in TV shows such as "Doubt", "The Mindy Project" and "Weird City".
