AceShowbiz - Ahead of season 6 premiere, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." releases its trailer for the upcoming season. Clocking at 1 minute and 23 seconds, the new footage gives a glimpse of what to come in season 6 which is set to arrive in May.

First, the trailer confirms the death of Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) as the words that read, "Agent Coulson is dead," are written on the screen. The rest of the team is also seen trying to recover and make things work following the loss of Coulson,

Mack (Henry Simmons) is having a hard time with his new role as the leader, while May (Ming-Na Wen) is reminiscing her last moments with the love of her life on a beach in Tahiti. The new trailer further glimpses that Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) is looking for Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), who appears to be frozen in a space craft.

Additionally, the team is set to face a new threat in the upcoming season. As action-packed scenes are flickering on the screen, Mack can be heard saying in voiceover, "We don't know where they're from, but they're extremely powerful." The new enemy touts a high-tech gun and they are seemingly the people behind a powerful blue wave of energy seems to level a building.

The most interesting part comes at the end of the trailer. A familiar figure is emerging from the darkness and it reveals a man who bears an uncanny resemblance to Coulson. A voice, which many assume as Fitz's, tells him that he's from S.H.I.E.L.D., the man responds, "Never heard of it."

Season 6 of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is highly-anticipated by fans as it premieres this summer. A lot of fans expect that the season will give the first glimpse at the MCU after the events of "Avengers: Endgame", though the trailer seemingly alludes that the ABC show will continue to skip on acknowledging the fallout in the upcoming movie.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will premiere this July on ABC.
