During an appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', the 'I Am the Night' actor also treats the audience to a quick cover of Vanilla Ice's 'Ice Ice Baby'.

AceShowbiz - Chris Pine has recalled how he was once briefly in a band with his high school teachers.
The actor made an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday night (January 24) to promote his new TV miniseries "I Am the Night", but the conversation quickly turned to the time he performed a song about school closures on the late-night show in January 2016.
Host Jimmy Kimmel asked Chris if he had ever been a singer or in a band in his youth, and the star explained: "The closest I got was... I was in a band with my math teacher and English teacher. My math teacher was a sax player, and my English teacher was a guitar player."
Chris went on to share that he had attended a "liberal Jewish school in the Valley," and that perhaps his band's song choices weren't always the "most appropriate" for the audience.
"We started with 'Brown Sugar' by the (Rolling) Stones. And we followed that with, at a town hall meeting at 10.15 in the morning... I sang (Marvin Gaye song) 'Let's Get It On'," the 38-year-old said, adding that he didn't really consider the lyrics at the time. "I was just excited that my voice was that high that I could hit those notes. Or think I could hit them."
At the conclusion of the chat, Chris divulged that the first song he learned all the words to was Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby", and much to the audience's delight, proceeded to give a quick rendition.
