Baier is already back at work after he and his family were recently involved in a serious accident during a ski trip in Montana.

AceShowbiz - Bret Baier is grateful he and his family managed to survive a serious car crash with only minor injuries. On Tuesday, January 22, just one day after the scary accident, the Fox News anchor shared details of the incident as he closed his "Special Report" segment, reminding audience to count their blessings.

Noting that he rarely ended his report with an advice, the 48-year-old explained that he and his family were on their way back to the airport from a family trip in Montana when the accident took place. "I hit a big patch of ice and I could not stop our SUV. We slid into the intersection of a busy road and into the path of a big pickup truck, which slammed into our driver's side door. The air bags deployed, the windows shattered, we careened into a ditch and flipped sideways," he recalled.

Luckily, Baier, his wife and two children didn't suffer serious injuries. "We escaped with minor injuries: A concussion, 14 stitches on a chin, a jostled tooth and a sprained ankle," he stated. "We are very blessed." He added, "Thanks to a man driving by named Zach who stopped and helped, we were able to climb out of the flipped car. And thanks to the first responders and Montana Highway Patrol - we made it to the hospital quickly."

On the day of the accident, Baier took to Twitter to share words of wisdom with his followers. "Don't take anything for granted - every day is a blessing - and family is everything," he wrote. "It's always good to remind yourself of that - before something does it for you." Following his "Special Report" segment, he once again tweeted, "Ended the show with this tonight-- count your blessings and hug your family. Thank you again to everyone for the support and prayers."

Since news of his accident made headlines, Baier received well-wishes from former colleague Megyn Kelly, CNN's Wolf Blitzer, journalist Howard Fineman, and MSNBC's Twitter account for "Morning Joe". Kelly tweeted, "@BretBaier has faced down plenty of life's challenges with class, grit and a sense of humor, and he'll undoubtedly do the same with this one. Much love to you B, Amy, Daniel & Paul."

Blitzer, on the other hand, wrote, "Wishing my friend @BretBaier and his wonderful and loving family only the best. His words are powerful and so true." Fineman chimed in, "We're so relieved that @BretBaier and his family are okay after horrible car crash. All best from our family to his. He's universally well liked in a divided city for good reasons." And "Morning Joe" posted, "We send our best to @BretBaier and his family today," along with a news clip about Baier's accident.
