AceShowbiz - Amid speculations over the future of FOX's "The Simpsons", a new report suggests that the long-running animated series is nearing completion on a renewal deal. The new deal most likely to keep the series alive for two more seasons, season 31 and 32.
According to Variety, FOX broadcast network and 20th Century Fox TV are finalizing a deal to renew the series for two more seasons. If they seal the deal, the fan-favorite animated series will be on the air until at least spring 2021.
"The Simpsons" is currently airing its season 30. When it concludes, the series will have logged an impressive 663 episodes following its 1989 debut. Both FOX and Disney, however, haven't commented on the report.

The series is one of those franchises that has been merchandised in just about every possible way, and has spawned comic books, video games, toys, clothes, a theme park attraction, and of course a very successful theatrical movie back in 2007.
Fans were shocked after the FOX series magically predicted a real-life incident. In a 1998 episode titled "When You Dish Upon a Star", which guest stars Alec Baldwin, Kim Basinger and Ron Howard, a scene of 20th Century Fox being forced to change their logo to include "A Walt Disney Company" was featured.
Should "The Simpsons" be renewed, it would be interesting which direction that the series will take now that it's under Disney. The show, which is known for pushing buttons and boundaries, previously landed in hot water following racism scandal over Apu. It was reported that "The Simpson" was planning to remove the character altogether from the show amid the backlash over its portrayal, but showrunner Al Jean set the record straight.
"Adi Shankar is not a producer on the Simpsons," he wrote on Twitter, referring to the Indian-American film producer who alleged about the removal rumors. "I wish him the very best but he does not speak for our show."
