AceShowbiz - It seems like Megyn Kelly is in the mood of joking lately. The TV personality, who recently was confirmed to be leaving NBC following blackface comment controversy, shared on Thursday, January 17 that she was about to head to jury duty in New York.
Taking to her Twitter account, the former "Today" co-host also joked about her unemployment in the tweet. "About to begin jury duty this morning," she wrote to her followers. "Slightly concerned about the effectiveness of the 'I'm far too busy' excuse this time."

However, people didn't take her joke well as they flooded the tweet with taunts and criticism. "Just be yourself - they'll let you out," said a commenter. Another user replied sarcastically, "Don't worry, they rarely pick racists."

Meanwhile, a user shared a tip for a better PR. "I don't think this tweet is helping your PR, honey. Show up for your civic duty with your head high," the user wrote to Megyn. It's a learning opportunity for a gal that has been served a big helping of humble pie. Work on your self awareness and lay low for a while."

It arrives after Megyn and NBC reached an exit agreement, three months after the controversial blackface remarks. "The parties have resolved their differences, and Megyn Kelly is no longer an employee of NBC," a statement that was released on Friday, January 11, read.
She was halfway through her three-year, $69 million contract when "Megyn Kelly Today", the third hour of the NBC daytime show, was canceled following backlash over her blackface remarks. Multiple sources report that the contract remains intact with NBC paying her the remaining sum of money from the contract which is believed to be about $30 million.
Both representatives for NBC and Megyn refused to detail the exact terms of her exit.
