Michelle Obama Slammed by Megyn Kelly for 'Poor' Comments About Barack Obama
Celebrity

Megyn Kelly and her guest Maureen Callahan have called out Michelle Obama over her recent remarks about her decades-long marriage to former President Barack Obama.

AceShowbiz - Megyn Kelly criticized the marriage of former First Lady Michelle Obama and former President Barack Obama. Kelly, on her YouTube show "The Megyn Kelly Show," argued that the Obamas "married the wrong people" after listening to Michelle's new podcast, "IMO."

During one of the earliest episodes of "IMO," Michelle Obama discussed the challenges she faced in her marriage. She explained, "If the odds were you're going to be married to your partner for 50 years and 10 of those years could be bad, you know? You'd sign up for it, you know? And that's really how it works out."

This comment has not sat well with Kelly. Criticizing Michelle's views, Kelly stated, "Every time she opines, it’s something that reflects poorly on him." She added, "I've been married for 17-and-a-half years and not one was bad. I think she and he married the wrong people."

Kelly was joined by guest Maureen Callahan, an opinion writer for the Daily Mail, echoed Kelly's sentiments and added, "This is only her third episode. I can't think of anybody I would go to for advice less than Michelle Obama. She really doesn't know what she's talking about."

The criticism continued as Callahan pointed out the negative tone Michelle often uses when speaking about Barack, saying, "She loves to tell us she hated Barack for a good decade."

"Please, teach me how to have a successful relationship with someone you clearly respect and admire. Every time she's on the air, it's like, 'I'm dragging this ball of dead weight behind me. His name? Barack Obama.' "

Michelle has been transparent about the strain Barack's presidency put on their marriage. "People think I'm being catty by saying this - it's like, there were 10 years where I couldn't stand my husband. And guess when it happened? When [our daughters] were little."

Despite these challenges, the Obamas, who married in 1992, have managed to sustain their relationship. They were recently hit with divorce rumors due to Michelle's absence from significant public events, but she firmly dismissed these claims.

"That's the thing that we as women struggle with - disappointing people," she explained on Sophia Bush's "Work In Progress" podcast. "So much so, that people - they couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself - that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing."
