The 'Welcome to Marwen' star join forces with 'The Office' U.S. creator Greg Daniels to develop this upcoming Netflix comedy which he will star on and executive produce.

AceShowbiz - Steve Carell is heading back to the office for a new workplace comedy.

The actor and funnyman has co-created "Space Force" with Greg Daniels, the brains behind the U.S. version of "The Office", which ran from 2005 to 2013, and the project has been picked up by Netflix.

The comedy pokes fun at U.S. President Donald Trump's Space Force initiative, and revolves around the team tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services.

Carell will star and executive produce, alongside Daniels, according to Deadline.

Last summer (2018), Trump revealed he had directed Department of Defense and the Pentagon executives to establish a Space Force as the sixth branch of the armed forces. Vice President Mike Pence has since explained the new branch will oversee satellite defence and space-related issues.
