The 'Wolves' singer says 2018 was 'a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth' for her, which was 'not easy.'

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez has returned to Instagram, months after her last post. In her new and first post since she left rehab late last year, the 26-year-old singer/actress greeted her fans and followers and wished them a belated happy new year.

"It's been awhile since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support," she wrote on Monday, January 14 along with some black-and-white pictures of her.

Opening up about her challenging year, she summed up, "Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It's always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming." She added that "it's not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all."

Selena entered rehab in October after having a mental breakdown due to her health issues. She reportedly checked into the East Coast psychiatric facility where she received dialectical behavior therapy. The "Fetish" songstress checked out of rehab in November.

She was spotted out in public for the first time since the rehab stint in December, when her friends shared pictures of their snow-tubing trip in Big Bear, California. She looked happy and healthy while posing with her close friend and Puma campaign co-star Connar Franklin as well as her former "Wizards of Waverly Place" co-star Bailee Madison.

Selena recently also hung out with her longtime BFF, Taylor Swift, and another friend, Cazzie David. It marked the former Disney darling's reunion with the "Shake It Off" hitmaker since they were last seen together in public in May 2018. At the time, the "Monte Carlo" star joined the "Bad Blood" singer on a stop of her "Reputation Stadium Tour" as a surprise guest during the concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
