The duo addresses the breakup reports after Slim Jxmmi posted cryptic tweets hinting that he's leaving the group.

AceShowbiz - Rest assured, guys! Rae Sremmurd isn't breaking up just yet. The hip-hop duo earlier gave fans a scare with Slim Jxmmi's cryptic posts on Twitter, but they now shoot down the split reports. "Brothers gonna be brothers, it's SREMMLIFE forever," the group stated on their official Twitter account on Sunday, January 13.

Jxmmi sparked the breakup reports after he wrote on his own social media account, "I'm not Rae Sremmurd I'm Slim Jxmmi and ima sink or swim by myself." He added in another tweet, "Not Sremmlife."

"Y'all won it's a wrap," he wrote in a series of now-deleted tweets. "Y'all still got ya mans swae y'all a be skraight."

While fans are relieved that the duo is still together, Jxmmi's tweets hinted that something's going on between the two brothers. It's unclear if they have worked out their issues or Rae Sremmurd just tried to calm fans down.

Rae Sremmurd, which originated from Tupelo, Mississippi, was formed in 2009 by brothers Jxmmi and Swae Lee. They gained wide recognition with their 2016 single "Black Beatles" lifted off their album "Sremmlife 2". The song featuring Gucci Mane peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their third studio album, "SR3MM", was released on May 4, 2018, and served as a triple-album along with a solo album from Jxmmi and Swae's solo effort.

Last year, they announced that their new album, the fourth installment in their "SremmLife" series, would be released in 2019. "Me and Slim Jxmmi are coming together for another classic album, our fourth album. 'SremmLife 4' will come early next year," Swae told Hypebeast in October. No release date is announced for the new album, yet.
