AceShowbiz - Ellen Page finds herself "lucky" for her marriage to Emma Portner. The Kitty Pryde depicter in the "X-Men" franchise films expresses her gratefulness of having the professional dancer as wife through a social media post in celebration of their first wedding anniversary.
On Tuesday, January 8, the 31-year-old actress turned to her Instagram account to share a sweet tribute to the special milestone. Along with two photos of her and Portner, she wrote in the caption, "I love this magical human. I'm so f***ing lucky."
In the same post, the actress who made her breakthrough in "Juno" didn't forget to thank the LGBTQ community for making her union to the 24-year-old possible. "Beyond grateful to all those who fought to allow us to be wife & wife," she noted.
A few hours before uploading the tribute post, Page shared with her followers another photo of her and her wife. Captioned with just a simple kiss emoji, her post saw her getting a kiss on the cheek from Portner.
Fans were quick to flood the comment section of Page's post to congratulate the couple. One follower wrote, "Happy blessed anniversary and many more years of love and happiness!" Another gushed, "Congratulations to you beautiful couple!!! Lots of love and blessings!" Meanwhile, a third mentioned, "You guys are such a beautiful couple."
Page came out as gay on Valentine's Day 2014. A little over year later, she spoke out about her coming out during an interview with Stephen Colbert. "I feel so grateful to feel how I feel now, compared to [how I felt] when I was a closeted person," she explained. "It's not a nice place to be. [Staying in the closet] is toxic. I wish that no one had to live that way."
The Academy Award-nominated actress dated Portner in the summer of 2017 following a break-up from girlfriend of more than one year, Samantha Thomas. On January 3, 2018, she broke the news that she and Portner got married in a secret ceremony.
Posting a photo of their hands sporting elegant wedding rings along with two other photos, Page at the time wrote, "Can't believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife." Her excitement was echoed by Portner in her own post that read, "I get to call this incredible woman MY WIFE!I LOVE YOU!"
