Although they won't do lengthy reunion tours across North America, Geri Halliwell, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Mel B might still do a few U.S. shows in the summer.

AceShowbiz - The Spice Girls have reportedly walked away from as much as $100 million (£78 million) to tour the U.S. this summer.

According to editors at British newspaper The Sun, Geri Halliwell, Melanie C, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown, who have reformed the '90s girl band for a reunion tour, have turned down lucrative offers to take the tour to America.

The group, who are reuniting without fashion designer Victoria Adams, could have banked millions from a stadium tour but have reportedly decided against the idea for fears long stints on the road could reignite old drama.

"Promoters have offered them lengthy tours across North America but they fear it will eat up too much time in 2019," a source told the publication. "The UK shows will be massive and very special so they are apprehensive about doing more in the U.S. because they know from experience how long stints together on the road can cause tensions."

The band, who have sold out 13 dates across the U.K. and Ireland set for May and June, is said to be considering a smaller run of shows but have yet to come to a decision.

"They all have families who they need to consider, they aren't single women who can drop everything and go," continued the source. "At the moment they are looking at the possibility of doing a few shows in the U.S. in July and August when their kids will be on their school holidays so could come on tour with them."

Scheduling conflicts arising from Emma's solo album and Mel B's commitments to "America's Got Talent" are also factors which could prevent them from taking on additional U.S. dates

"A major tour there could make them millions but they aren't in the right place in their careers or personal lives to commit to that," the source added.

The reunion tour begins in Cardiff, Wales on May 27 and includes shows in Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol and at London's Wembley Stadium.
