After news of the couple's intimate wedding broke, 'The Last Song' author Nicholas Sparks also sent Cyrus and Hemsworth a congratulatory message.

AceShowbiz - Following Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's wedding over the weekend, it's indeed the perfect time to revisit "The Last Song", a 2010 movie that brings the lovely couple together. And it seems like it has been a general consensus among many people as Amazon Prime Video reveals that there's a massive surge in views of the romance movie.

The network announced on Twitter on Friday, December 28 that the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker and "The Hunger Games" actor's intimate wedding "had everyone feeling sentimental this week." The account further added, "After news broke Wednesday, we saw a 2000% spike in streams of The Last Song. We love a happy ending. Congrats @mileycyrus and @liamhemsworth!"

Based on Nicholas Sparks' novel of the same name, the movie centered on unruly New York teenager and talented pianist Ronnie Miller (Cyrus) who was angry at having to spend the summer with her father in a small Southern beach town. That was until she met Will Blakelee (Hemsworth).

After the news of the couple's intimate wedding broke, the author sent Cyrus and Hemsworth a congratulatory message. "This makes me so happy. Congratulations @MileyCyrus and @LiamHemsworth. #TheLastSong," he wrote on Twitter. Cyrus responded to his tweet with three heart emojis.

Miley and Liam tied the knot on Sunday, December 23 in an intimate wedding. The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker and the Australian actor, who first met on the set of "The Last Song", wanted to keep their wedding small and intimate and didn't even prepare it for too long. "The gathering was small and intimate and rather spontaneous," so a source said. "They did some quick pre-planning before the holiday and decided that they didn't want a big elaborate wedding. They truly wanted to keep it a secret."
