Among the items handed out included 500 bicycles and helmets, more than 400 sneakers, and various Xbox consoles, board games and superhero figures.

AceShowbiz - Meek Mill lifted the spirits of a boy in his native Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Christmas Eve (December 24) by replacing the Xbox stolen from him just moments after receiving it at the rapper's toy giveaway.

The "Dreams and Nightmares" hitmaker hosted the holiday event at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center on Monday, when he treated 3,000 local kids to a variety of presents.

Through his non-profit organisation DreamChasers, Meek teamed up with officials at sports giant Puma and delivery firm GoPuff to lavish the youngsters with gifts for the festive season.

Among the items handed out included 500 bicycles and helmets, more than 400 sneakers, and various Xbox consoles, board games, and superhero figures, according to The Blast.

However, one child was pounced on by thieves shortly after leaving the venue with his Xbox in hand, and when he returned to the giveaway and told organisers all about his misfortune, Meek personally made sure to get the boy a replacement.

Discussing the reason for his generous giveaway with local news station CBS Philly, Meek said, "I didn't forget about where I came from. I actually come around here a lot. I can't hang on the corner no more or nothing, but you know, I know the people around here (sic). I know these faces."

Mill, who was joined by his seven-year-old son Rahmeek, is celebrating his first Christmas at home following his April release from jail after serving five months for a probation violation.
