The former 'Lopez Tonight' host has the misdemeanour charge dismissed after the man accusing him of harassment back in October failed to show up in court.

AceShowbiz - Comedian George Lopez has dodged a battery charge after his alleged victim failed to show up in court.

The "Rio" star was accused of grabbing a man by his neck in October, after attempting to film the funnyman exiting a Hooters restaurant in New Mexico.

A police complaint was filed, and Lopez was questioned about the incident the following day, when he claimed he simply reached for the guy's phone because he didn't want to be put on camera.

George also accused the man of trying to bait him by poking fun at his anti-Donald Trump political views as he left the eatery.

He was subsequently served a court summons for misdemeanour battery, but there was good news for the actor on Thursday, December 06, as the case was dismissed.

According to TMZ, the charge was tossed because the accuser was a no-show in court, and failed to notify anyone about his absence.
