Prior to this, Inaba has been appearing on the show as one of several guest hosts filling in the void left by Chen.

AceShowbiz - "The Talk" and Carrie Ann Inaba have reportedly sealed the deal. The "Dancing with the Stars" judges has been tapped to join the CBS daytime chat show as the permanent replacement of Julie Chen who departed from the show in September. Variety is the first to break the news.

Prior to this, Inaba has been appearing on the show as one of several guest hosts filling in the void left by Chen. Now that Inaba has been hired as the permanent host, she is set to join a panel that is made of Eve, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood. CBS declined to comment on the report.

The news arrives after Chen decided to exit "The Talk" following a scandal involving her husband, CBS chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves. Moonves was fired from the company after multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assaul were leveled against him.

The TV personality announced her departure in a taped statement just days after her husband's resignment. "I have been at 'The Talk' since the day it started nine years ago, and the cast, crew and staff have become family to me over the years," she said in a taped statement. "But right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son. So I've decided to leave 'The Talk'. I want to thank everyone at the show for our wonderful years together..."

As for Inaba, she has been serving as one of the judges on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" since the show's debut in 2005. Joining her in the judge panel for the dancing competition are Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman.

Inaba is no stranger in guesting a talk show. Prior to this, she had also guest-hosted "The View", "Live with Kelly" and "Access Hollywood Life". She was also one of the original Fly Girl dancers on "In Living Color" and choreographed on "So You Think You Can Dance" and "American Idol", among other shows.
