AceShowbiz - It's official now! It was confirmed on Wednesday, November 28 that a "Game of Thrones" special reunion is officially happening. According to Entertainment Weekly, several cast members of the HBO hit series will be featured in the special including Sean Bean, who played patriarch Ned Stark.

Bean's character had been long departed from the show after he was infamously beheaded right in front of his daughter Sansa (Sophie Turner) for alleged treason under the command of King Joffrey. Also expected to appear in the reunion special are Aidan Gillen (Petyr Baelish), Richard Madden (Robb Stark) and Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon).

As the special was filmed in Belfast earlier this year, Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo on the series, is also said to be joining others in the special. The "Aquaman" actor was previously spotted in Belfast.

Meanwhile, Conan O'Brien was tapped to serve as the host. Representatives for O'Brien previously confirmed of the filming, though they refused to give more details as they have sworn to secrecy.

While it's such good news for fans of the cult series, the special will not air on the HBO though. It is set to be exclusively featured on a new "Game of Thrones" complete series home video box set. Containing all eight seasons of the show, the DVD will be released later in 2019.

It was recently revealed that the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" would arrive in April. Fans were living it since the show is back to its traditional release period as the majority of its past seasons also premiered in April.

Returning for the six-part season are stars Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark and Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark.
