The follow-up to the hit teen rom-com is developed as part of Paramount's new, multipicture deal with Netflix.

AceShowbiz - Fans' love letters to "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" may have convinced studio execs to make a sequel to the sleeper hit. In a report about a multi-picture deal between Paramount and Netflix, The Hollywood Reporter said that the follow-up to the teen romantic comedy is one of the first projects being developed under the new deal.
Susan Johnson, who directed the first movie, seemed to confirm the news when she wrote on her Instagram account, "Well, the cat's out of the bag! Thanks for the support, everyone!!! It's all you!" Perhaps realizing that she's the one who let the cat out of the bag, the helmer later deleted her post though.
Asked to comment on the sequel rumors, a representative for Netflix says, "The sequel is not confirmed, we are purely in discussions."
Johnson previously hinted that John Ambrose McClaren, the final recipient of Lara Jean's (Lana Condor) letters, might lead to where the story will go in the sequel. "Relationships are hard to navigate and they'll find themselves in one. And they'll discover what the next person might bring in John Ambrose McClaren," she told Entertainment Tonight back in August.
"We're so invested in Peter and Lara Jean, that seeing them go through struggles is going to be hard but also something everybody can relate to," she added. "The next shiny face comes in and you're like, 'Oh shoot, this guy's really nice too. What do I do?' "
Noah Centineo also said at the premiere of his film "Sierra Burgess Is a Loser" in August that the cast's all interested to do a sequel. "All I know is that every single person involved in the making of that film wants a sequel," he said. "We've all talked about it in depth. I'll do as many as they want me!"
