The 'Gone Girl' star is baffled that people would focus on what she was wearing rather than what she was up to when she joined the march to protest the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh.

AceShowbiz - Emily Ratajkowski was among the celebrities who were marching in a protest against the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh in Washington D.C. last month. However, instead of focusing on the message the model wanted to convey, trolls decided to take issue at her outfit choice.

During the occasion, the 27-year-old glamour model donned a statement making white crop top. She didn't wear bra underneath the top, putting her nipples on display. Battling the heat, the "Gone Girl" actress, alongside fellow celebrity Amy Schumer, was trying to protect female rights through her activism which ultimately got her arrested.

Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault. Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power. Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is a message to women in this country that they do not matter. I demand a government that acknowledges, respects and supports women as much as it does men.

"I knew being there would be important and I knew some people would find it controversial, but I never expected anyone to talk about why I wasn't wearing a bra under my tank top," Emily said to Stellar Magazine on Sunday, November 25.

"It was 32 degrees (Celsius), I was marching through D.C. in jeans," the "Blurred Lines" babe further explained. "My outfit seemed completely normal to me. And I was there making a political point. Why would people focus on what I was wearing?"

Fortunately, Emily is not alone as Amy got her back, defending her over the backlash she received for her outfit. The comedienne/actress took to her Instagram account immediately after the trolls came after her partner. "People are trolling @emrata for not wearing a bra while she got arrested. Well for starters I wasn't wearing a bra either," she wrote. "In the 'what to wear when being detained for 4 hours on an 87 degree day after a 2 hour march' handbook. Bras aren't recommended."
