The streaming service reimagines the hit teen romance film with a killer twist in an alternate trailer released just in time for Halloween.

AceShowbiz - Teen romance is mixed with suspenseful murder in Netflix's horror spoof of its own movie "To All the Boys I've Loved Before". In the spirits of Halloween, the streaming service released an alternate trailer for the sleeper hit, highlighting "love," "obsession" and "secrets" as the theme of the movie.

With cleverly cut scenes and scary music, the fake promo is much more fitting for a thriller film than a romantic drama. The video hints at the lead Lara Jean's sinister agenda, turning her into a serial killer who eyes Peter Kavinsky as her next target, with the movie's title being changed into "To All the Boys I've Killed Before".

The real "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" tells the story of Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor), a high school junior who spends her lunch reading and imagining her life as a fantasy. Then, one day her secret box of love letters is unexpectedly delivered to the boys she has had crushes on over the years. To avoid confrontation, she begins a fake relationship with one of them, Peter (Noah Centineo), before realizing that she actually falls for him.

Based on Jenny Han's 2014 novel of the same name, it received mostly favorable reviews from critics and became the talk of the town after it was released on August 17. Many viewers were shipping the two lead actors, Condor and Centineo, due to their on-screen chemistry.

The book is followed by two sequels, "P.S. I Still Love You" and "Always and Forever, Lara Jean", providing ideas for a follow-up movie, but Netflix has not announced a sequel for the sleeper hit.
