Lawyer for the injured paramedic noted that the emergency service personnel had to work a desk job after being viciously attacked by the former 'Melrose Place' star.

AceShowbiz - Heather Locklear is facing legal action from a paramedic who claims she viciously attacked her while under the influence.

The former "Dynasty" actress was arrested in June and charged with interfering with a law enforcement officer and two counts of misdemeanor battery upon an officer and emergency services personnel after they responded to her home in Thousand Oaks, California to deal with a domestic disturbance.

Heather, who was allegedly intoxicated, was taken to hospital and then to jail, and was released on $20,000 (£15,000) bail and went to rehab for substance abuse and mental health issues.

According to TMZ.com, the paramedic's lawyer Kevin Flahavan will file a lawsuit this week, end November 04, claiming she suffered head and neck injuries that were so severe she had to work a desk job after the incident. Heather will reportedly also be accused of verbal abuse.

The 57-year-old was reportedly taken in an ambulance to a nearby medical facility after a suspected overdose. Earlier in June her parents called the emergency services after she allegedly attacked them.

After being admitted to rehab the star addressed her substance abuse problems in an Instagram post.

"Addiction is ferocious and will try to take you down," she wrote. "Recovery is the best revenge. Be kind to everyone you meet, your light just might change their path. Rest in peace beautiful Josh. You touched my (heart)."

The criminal case against the "Melrose Place" star is pending.
