Singer Aloe Blacc reveals that he and the 'Wake Me Up' hitmaker were working on several songs together before the latter took his own life in April.

AceShowbiz - Avicii's family are working towards collating the late DJ's unreleased collaborations with Aloe Blacc and Nile Rodgers into a posthumous record.

The musician, real name Tim Bergling, was just 28 when he died in a suspected suicide in April.

Aloe, who provided vocals for the Swedish turntablist's 2013 worldwide smash hit "Wake Me Up", says that before his friend's death they recorded together, and he believes Avicii's family are looking to release the material alongside other unreleased tracks.

"There are several songs left," he tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper. "I believe the record label is working with his parents and the estate to bring these unreleased songs to the public. But for me there's no rush - I would leave that to the parents."

CHIC legend Nile also recently claimed there are at least 10 "extraordinary" tracks he worked with Avicii on which could be released with the permission of the DJ's family.

Aloe, real name Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III, confirmed he was present during Avicii and Nile's recording session and sung on "a couple" of the songs they created.

The young musician's death came two years after he announced his retirement from touring - as he was struggling with his health and the pressures of being on the road and playing late night club gigs. He was hospitalised for acute pancreatitis in 2012 due to excessive alcohol consumption and had to have an operation to remove his gall bladder and appendix in 2014.

Speaking about the effect the DJ's death had on the music community, Aloe added: "Avicii's death has been a wake up call to a lot of young folks for people to take better care of themselves and surround themselves with people who are looking out for their best interests."
