BTS Seals Their Future for Another 7 Years With Contract Renewal, Fans Rejoice

The new deal will keep Jin and friends under the management of Big Hit Entertainment until at least 2026.

AceShowbiz - Rest assured ARMYs, BTS (Bangtan Boys) isn't going anywhere until at least the next eight years. The popular South Korean boyband has renewed their contract with Big Hit Entertainment, so it's announced on Wednesday, October 17.

All seven members of the group, Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, Jungkook, RM (Rap Monster), Suga and V, have signed their new contracts, which extend their current contracts with the company for another seven years. Their current contracts are set to expire in 2019, which means now they will remain under the label until 2026.

BTS said in a statement regarding their contract renewal, "We respect our mentor Bang Shi Hyuk, who had a vision for our future even before we debuted. He has opened our eyes to perspectives not only on music but on the world. We will do our best to show an even better side of ourselves to our fans around the world, with the strong support of Big Hit Entertainment."

The company also released a statement, saying, "Our philosophy is to support our artists, who are seeing significant success on a global level, to the best of our ability. After plenty of discussions with the seven BTS members, we have agreed upon a contract renewal in order to maintain their stable and long-term career. Right now, BTS's team numbers about a hundred-odd people and we will continue to invest time and people in order to make that team stronger and more systematic."

ARMYs are overjoyed to have learned of the news, with one writing, "Seriously guys this is the best news ever. another 7 years with the 7 boys who make me the happiest."

Another excited fan tweeted, "seven more years of namjoon's wise words, seokjin's dad jokes, yoongi's savage replies, hoseok's bright smile, taehyung's artistry, jimin's beautiful laugh, jungkook's many talents #7MoreYearsOfBTS."

Another jokingly added, "I'll be 29 and maybe already with a family and I can imagine myself like this at 12am KST sending everyone to school or telling them to stfu because bts is making a comeback #7MoreYearsOfBTS."

BTS was formed by Big Hit Entertainment and debuted in 2013 with "No More Dream" from their initial album "2 Cool 4 Skool". They began their global breakthrough in 2016 when their second full album "Wings" peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard 200, setting a new record for the highest chart ranking for a K-pop album ever.

Since then, they only soar higher in the music industry, with their next album "Love Yourself: Her" debuting at No. 7 on the U.S. albums chart. It was followed by their third full album "Love Yourself: Tear", which debuted at No. 1 on the ranking.
