Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson and fans take to Twitter to react to Evans' emotional message which marks the end of his run as the Marvel superhero.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Reynolds is probably the saddest about Chris Evans' farewell to Captain America. Reacting to the "Avengers: Infinity War" star's emotional message on Twitter, the "Deadpool" actor took to his own account to post a hilarious, yet touching note.

Evans tweeted on Thursday, October 4 to mark the last day of filming "Avengers 4", "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."

Reynolds replied to the tweet, "I'm not crying. I'm weeping. There's a difference."

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, meanwhile, congratulated Evans on his run as the Marvel superhero. "What a run you had brother. Congrats on breathing life into such an iconic character. Keep on keepin' on," he wrote.

Fans also took to social media to thank Evans for his portrayal of the iconic character, making #ThankYouChrisEvans trending on Twitter. "Tears are being shed. Thank You for showing me what it means to truly be a Hero. I'll pass these lessons on to my Children," one wrote.

"#ThankYouChrisEvans for be the perfect steve rogers, both in the movies and in real life," another posted.

"There's a reason why this is trending #ThankYouChrisEvans," read another tweet. "You made us love Steve Rogers so much that letting him go is something we don't want to do. You put your heart and soul into this role and we can't thank you enough for it. You will always be our #CaptainAmerica."

Evans' "Avengers 4" is due out May 3, 2019 in the United States. He will next star in Rian Johnson's "Knives Out", joining Daniel Craig. It is described as "a modern day murder mystery in the classic whodunit style," according to Deadline.
