The son of actress Mia Farrow was among those whose sexual misconduct allegations against Moonves led to the former CBS chairman's resignation from the TV network.

AceShowbiz - Newsman Ronan Farrow has replaced the former CBS boss he forced to step down over sexual misconduct allegations on the new The Hollywood Reporter Most Powerful People in Entertainment list for 2018.

Mia Farrow's son was among those whose reporting led to the fall of Les Moonves, who resigned as chairman and executive officer of CBS last week (ends September 14) after six women came forward to accuse him of sexual assault and harassment in a New Yorker article.

Six different women filed sexual misconduct complaints against Moonves in July.

The TV executive announced his resignation in a statement, in which he denied the allegations against him.

"Untrue allegations from decades ago are now being made against me that are not consistent with who I am," he wrote. "Effective immediately, I will no longer be Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CBS. I am deeply saddened to be leaving the company. I wish nothing but the best for the organisation, the newly comprised board of directors and all of its employees."

Meanwhile, Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger remains the most powerful person in entertainment, according to the annual THR list.

There are 34 new faces on the 2018 countdown, including Tiffany Haddish, basketball star and producer LeBron James, and "Black-ish" creator Kenya Barris.
