The 'American Horror Story' actor is cleared of sexual assault claims following investigation by authorities.

AceShowbiz - Actor Dylan McDermott will not face charges following sexual assault allegations lodged against him.

An unnamed woman claimed the American Horror Story star sexually assaulted her in 1991, but authorities at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office have chosen not move forward with the case because the reported incident falls outside the statute of limitations.

"The allegation is outside the statute of limitations, therefore, an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the evidence is not warranted and prosecution is declined," a representative tells TMZ.

Celebrating the news, a representative for the actor states: "Mr. McDermott learned about these allegations last year and trusted that the process would end exactly as it has."

News about McDermott's case comes after Los Angeles authorities also declined to file misconduct charges against actors Anthony Anderson, Kevin Spacey, and Steven Seagal.
