Linday's stepmother Kate Major has filed for divorce from the actress' father Michael Lohan following domestic assault in July.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan's stepmother Kate Major has filed for divorce from the actress' father Michael Lohan.
The former reporter filed for divorce in Florida on Wednesday, September 05, describing their troubled marriage as "irretrievably broken", according to documents obtained by The Blast.
She has also requested majority custody of their two sons Landon, five, and Logan, three, but is willing to share legal responsibility with Michael. Major is also seeking spousal and child support and wants her legal expenses covered.
Michael has issued a statement to the website explaining that they had been going to a mediation attorney privately to hash out the terms of the divorce but her lawyer "pulled a fast one and went behind my back".
"I guess he wants publicity and to make money. Isn't that always the case? After all, he's doing it for nothing and asking for legal fees from me. Hmmmm! Case and point!" he continued. "If he wants publicity, he'll get it but what I have is 10 times more than the world has seen. I'm not out to sling mud or prove my case, but he better think twice before he destroys his client."
The couple married in 2014, but Major filed for legal separation in December, 2015, shortly after they temporarily lost custody of their boys. The children were placed in the care of Michael's mother after the Florida Department of Children and Families obtained footage of them having an explosive fight in front of their children.
They reconciled months later and began living together again, but their relationship continued to be tumultuous, with Major most recently being arrested for battery in July for allegedly attacking him at their home.
This marks the end of Michael's second marriage. He was previously wed to Dina Lohan, the mother of his four children; Lindsay, Michael, Ali and Cody, between 1985 and 2007.
