Abby Huntsman Joins 'The View' for Season 22

AceShowbiz - Welcome to "The View", Abby Huntsman! The former "Fox & Friends Weekend" host has been tapped to join the ABC morning show for its season 22.

The network announced the new addition on Tuesday, August 28, adding that the 32-year-old would be joining the daily panel beginning on September 4. The daughter of Jon Huntsman Jr., the current U.S. Ambassador to Russia, will replace Sara Haines, who leaves the show for "Good Morning America". Haines will make her last appearance on "The View" on September 3.

"I couldn't be more be excited to return to my professional roots at ABC News," Huntsman, who began her career at ABC, said in the official press release. "I look forward to adding my own point of view to the most interesting and successful talk show on television today. Joining the women at 'The View' really is a dream come true!"

The roster of "The View" has been undergoing major shakeup lately. In addition to Haines, Paula Faris left the long-running morning program and her "Good Morning America" duty as she wants to focus more on reporting.

In addition to Hunstman, who will serve Republicans voice around the show's table, the panel consists of Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar and Meghan McCain. Debuting in 1997, the popular talk show has been running for 22 seasons.

The upcoming season will feature a slew of guest stars including Stormy Daniels, Wendy Williams, Kristen Bell, America Ferrera, Ricky Gervais, Taraji P. Henson, Mariska Hargitay among others.

Prior to this, Huntsman worked on MSNBC's "The Cycle". The show featured hosts including Ari Melber and Krystal Ball as they held a range of political opinions.
