AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj got an explanation from Spotify after she accused the music streaming company of album chart discrimination. The "Anaconda" hitmaker, who released "Queen" earlier this month, recently expressed her dissatisfaction on Twitter when the album only came in at second place on Billboard 200 chart.

In a series of tweets, Nicki claimed that the online streaming platform punished her for releasing her album 10 minutes early on her radio show, before its debut on other streaming services. "Spotify put Drake's face on every playlist but told me they'd have to teach me a lesson for playing my music 10 mins early on #QueenRadio. Even though they've been giving away my music for free for years and I am one of the top Spotify artists of all time," the "Bang Bang" femcee wrote.

A representative for Spotify then issued a statement as a response, saying that they supported the release of the female rapper's fourth album. "Spotify supported Nicki Minaj with a Times Square Billboard, a host of the largest playlists, New Music Friday and the new music release shelf," the rep explained. "Her song 'Bed' actually saw an increase based on the promotions put behind the campaign. The company continues to be big fans of Nicki."

While "Queen" landed at second place on the chart with 185,000 album units in its first week of release, Travis Scott (II)'s third album "Astroworld" remained atop the chart, racking up 205,000 album units.
