AceShowbiz - Comedian Pete Davidson was pulled over by police in upstate New York and his friend was booked for felony drug possession.

According to TMZ.com, Pete was recently out driving with a pal near Syracuse in the early hours of the morning when he was pulled over.

An arrest report obtained by the U.S. gossip site shows the unnamed friend was booked for felony possession of a controlled substance and cited for unlawful possession of marijuana. Officers have not revealed the nature of the controlled substance.

Sources tell TMZ that the Saturday Night Live star was not arrested as he passed a field sobriety test.

The 24-year-old funnyman had been in the area filming Big Time Adolescence, a coming-of-age comedy that also stars the rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

Pete has hit headlines in the past few months due to his whirlwind romance with the singer Ariana Grande, who accepted his marriage proposal in June just weeks after they went public with their relationship.

The smitten couple recently gushed over each other in separate interviews detailing how they had fallen in love.

"The day I met her, I was like, 'Hey, I'll marry you tomorrow,'" he told the U.S. edition of GQ magazine. "She was calling my bluff. I sent her a picture (of engagement rings). I was like, 'Do you like any of these?' She was like, 'Those are my favourite ones,' and I was like, 'Sick.'"

Meanwhile, in a chat with late-night host Jimmy Fallon, the One Last Time musician, 25, revealed how she had first developed a crush on the comedian in 2016 when she guest hosted Saturday Night Live - long before they got together.

"We never exchanged numbers or anything," Ariana said. "We weren't even like friends for the longest time. But I had the biggest crush in the whole world on him the whole time, like forever. Like, my friends used to make fun of me for it, all that stuff.

"I left his writers' room when we were writing skits and stuff for the show, and my tour manager was in the hallway, and I'm not a crushy person, like I don't have crushes on people I don't know, but I left and I like jokingly said to my tour manager, 'I'm marrying him. 100 per cent. I'm literally marrying him'. And we weren't even friends (at that time)."
