The 'Bridget Jones's Diary' star has landed a major role as a powerful San Francisco venture capitalist in the new season of anthology series 'What/If'.

AceShowbiz - Renee Zellweger has landed her first major TV role in Netflix anthology series "What/If".

The series centres on what happens when people start making unacceptable decisions and each season will focus on a different moral dilemma.

Zellweger's season will be about a cash-strapped couple which accepts a powerful woman's proposition in a bid to secure a financial windfall.

Zellweger will play powerful San Francisco venture capitalist Anne.

It is unclear when the series will premiere, but the Jerry Maguire actress has a one-year deal to star in the show.

She has previously been seen on the small screen in TV movies "A Taste for Killing" and "Shake, Rattle and Rock!", and series "Murder in the Heartland", "Rebel Highway", and "King of the Hill".
