The former NSYNC member is thrilled to be invited back to the Disney show to mentor the new class of young entertainers.

AceShowbiz - *NSYNC singer JC Chasez has gone back to his Disney roots to mentor the new stars of the rebooted The Mickey Mouse Club.

The pop star scored his first big break as a castmember of the kids' variety show in the early 1990s, when he rose to fame alongside future bandmate Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Keri Russell, and Ryan Gosling, who all served as performers known as "Mouseketeers".

The series came to an end in 1996, but was revamped for a new generation of digital viewers last year (17), when it was renamed Club Mickey Mouse, and Chasez was recently invited back to feature in a Back to School Special, which airs online on Friday, August 10.

During the appearance, he joined the new class of young entertainers for a mentoring session, while he also posed as Principal Chasez in the group's new music video, and the 42 year old was thrilled to be back at Disney.

"I'm always open to the idea of working with (Disney)," he told People.com. "I'm proud of what I did in the club back then and I do want to see it succeed in the future because it's such a fond memory for me."

"I was a part of something fun, and no matter how much time passes, I've created friends for life," he smiled. "We have a connection because we shared something special in our youth. We all came from different backgrounds but we were all focused on getting better every day and pushing our talents as far as we could."

Now Chasez, who was honoured alongside his *NSYNC bandmates with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in April, is proud to be bringing his career "full circle" by sharing a few words of advice for the new Mouseketeers, and he hopes they will go on to achieve success in Hollywood, just as he and his co-stars have.

"I would love to see another generation of Disney stars create a new wave in the future," he said. "They're great and talented people, and the Club is in good hands."
