Brandon Church died on Friday, June 29, after suffering a seizure at his home.

AceShowbiz - Country star Eric Church is mourning the unexpected death of his younger brother.

Brandon Church died on Friday, June 29, after suffering a seizure at his home in Granite Falls, North Carolina.

Family patriarch Kenneth tells TMZ.com the 36-year-old, who had endured a number of seizures in recent years, was being transported to a local hospital for treatment when he suffered another episode and apparently went into cardiac arrest, which resulted in his passing.

Brandon, who had a young daughter named McKenzie, had co-written a number of Eric's previous songs, including How 'Bout You and Without You Here, and even joined his sibling onstage during his early shows.

Fans wishing to pay their respects have been invited to donate to the newly-established Brandon E. Church Memorial Scholarship Fund.

A message posted on the fund's Deposit a Gift page reads: "In lieu of flowers, please pay forward a gift that will keep on giving to others through furthering their education. The Brandon E. Church Memorial Scholarship Fund will be used to bless others and honor a benevolent life. Thank you for showing your love and support to the Church family."

Eric has yet to publicly comment on the sad news, but he is next due onstage in Ohio on 7 July.
