AceShowbiz - Season 2 of "Stranger Things" surprisingly features the absent of one minor character, leaving fans of the Netflix sci-fi series wonder what actually happens to the character. However, it seems the burning question is all now answered as star Noah Schnapp accidentally reveals the fate of the said character.

Noah, who plays Will Byers, responded to a fan question about Chester, his character's dog on the series. During the first season, the Byers family pet had a rather important role as he tried to save his young master from Demogorgon. But the dog was nowhere to be seen in the sophomore season, and none of the characters even mentioned him throughout the season.

"I think he died, didn't he?" Noah let slip, before panicking as he realized that he might give away too much than needed. "I mean, I'm sure, you can tell, I guess. Like, in this season, there's a grave for him that you see."

He attempted to hush the wild crowd. "Keep this between us," he added, though his efforts were unsurprisingly unsuccessful.

Chester was always depicted being aware of the Upside Down. He was always drawn to Will's fort as if he could sense that he's present there.

With the new revelation, fans assume that the dog may die between the first two seasons as the second season was set a year after season 1. This is not the first time for "Stranger Things" star to talk about Chester. Back in November, David Harbour gave fans closure in a joke manner by tweeting, "The dog was let go after the first season. Emotional problems. Wouldn't come out of his trailer, threw coffee at assistants. Was too much."

In the upcoming season 3, Millie Bobby Brown reprises her role as Eleven, joining fellow returning cast members Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin. Also among returning actors are Winona Ryder, Cara Buono, Dacre Montgomery, Sadie Sink, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery.

"Stranger Things" is expected to return for season 3 in 2019 on Netflix.
