The 'Hot in Here' hitmaker takes to Twitter to slam his father, saying, 'IM DONE WITH YA NO MORE MONEY FROM ME LET THEM PAY YA BILLS!!!'

AceShowbiz - Rapper Nelly is cutting off his father financially after fuming about his lack of loyalty in a series of angry social media posts.

The Hot In Herre hitmaker slammed his dad on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday, June 24, claiming he had been funding Cornell Haynes Sr.'s lifestyle for years, even though he was largely absent from Nelly's childhood.

"The word father is (a) strong word.. something I never knew anything about as a child because mine never did what he had todo (sic) only what he wanted...," Nelly tweeted. "HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT POPS IM DONE WITH YA NO MORE MONEY FROM ME LET THEM PAY YA BILLS (sic)..!!"

The hip-hop star didn't reveal what had caused their fall out, but added on Instagram, "Just because it's ya DNA DONT MAKE YOU A FATHER..!!! Mine never saw me play sports never taught me anything never saw me graduate and I still took care of him for almost 20 years he never to (took) care of me for half that..!!!! And till this day he still does what ever he wants even tho I pay his bills .. 'WELL USE TO' ..!!! That's Over as of tonight (sic)..!!!"

Nelly, real name Cornell Haynes Jr., went on to give thanks to single mothers who have to play both mum and dad to their children.

"S/O (shout out) to all the mamas that had to be fathers for the kids...," he added. "to my mama who taught me how to catch and play ball took me to my game borrowed money to buy me cleats and stood up and cheered when I walked the stage (sic).. I LOVE YOU Mama....!! I GET IT NOW TOTALLY..!!!"

Nelly still hasn't shed any light on what prompted his online outburst, but the father-of-two's posts emerged hours after Cornell Sr. apparently met up with the rapper's ex-girlfriend, Ashanti, while she was in St. Louis, Missouri.

Nelly and singer Ashanti split in 2013 after years of dating on and off.
