Jennifer Lee and Pete Docter have been tapped to replace John Lasseter as the new head of the animation studio.

AceShowbiz - Frozen co-director Jennifer Lee and Inside Out filmmaker PETE DOCTER have been tapped to replace John Lasseter as the boss of Disney/Pixar.

The studio mogul, who took charge of box office hits like Toy Story and Cars, took a leave of absence from his role as Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios in November (17) amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

Lasseter recently announced he was walking away from the job altogether at the end of this year to focus on "new creative challenges", and now Jennifer has been appointed the new CCO for the Walt Disney Animation Studios, while Pete will head up Pixar Animation.

"Jennifer Lee and Pete Docter are two of the most gifted filmmakers and storytellers I've ever had the pleasure to work with," Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn shared in a statement.

"Pete, the genius creative force behind Up, Inside Out, and Monsters, Inc., has been an integral part of Pixar almost since the beginning and is a huge part of its industry-leading success," he added. "Jenn, in bringing her bold vision to the boundary-breaking Frozen, has helped infuse Disney Animation with a new and exciting perspective."

Jennifer, who began working at Disney in 2011, is also known for co-writing Wreck-It Ralph, and contributing to the story of Zootopia, while she has also reunited with her filmmaking partner Chris Buck to shoot Frozen 2 ahead of a November, 2019 release.

Meanwhile, Pete, who has been with Pixar since 1990, also worked on Brave and Monsters University.
