After adding Damian Lewis and Dakota Fanning, the director is still expanding the cast for his Manson-era drama.

AceShowbiz - Hollywood legend Al Pacino reportedly will team up with Quentin Tarantino in the director's ninth film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". The "Scarface" actor will portray Marvin Shwarz, an agent to Leonardo DiCaprio's character Rick Dalton. This is the first time Tarantino collaborates with Al Pacino.

Variety reports that Al Pacino will join the other recently added actors such as Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, who will play iconic Hollywood star Steve McQueen, Dakota Fanning as Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, Luke Perry as Scotty Lancer, Emile Hirsch as Hollywood hairstylist Jay Sebring, Clifton Collins Jr. as Ernesto the Mexican Vaquero, Keith Jefferson as Land Pirate Keith and Nicholas Hammond as actor-turned-director Sam Wanamaker.

The 78-year-old Al Pacino has been stuck in low-profile indie work and HBO movies in recent years but lately, he comes back to join more high-profile movies. In addition to Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", he will play Jimmy Hoffa in Martin Scorsese's highly anticipated film "The Irishman", which will be released in 2019. "Raging Bull" actors Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci will join him in the film.

Tarantino described his ninth film as "a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood." Sources close to the film production say that Tarantino is currently looking for an "authentic Polish thespian" to portray film director Roman Polanski. Tarantino is allegedly considering Tom Cruise and Samuel L. Jackson for supporting roles too.

The "Reservoir Dogs" director previously revealed that he had been working on the script for five years. "I've been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old," he stated. "I'm very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don't exist anymore. And I couldn't be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio and Pitt as Rick and Cliff," the director added.

"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on August 9, 2019.
