It appears that Peter Parker is not the only one who has the radioactive spider-powers in the new Sony Pictures animation.

AceShowbiz - The upcoming computer-animated superhero film based on Marvel comics, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", introduces viewers to a more diverse alternate reality. The new trailer released by Sony on Wednesday, June 6, sees Miles Morales, a son of African-American father and Puerto Rican mother, who will be the new and younger Spider-Man mentored by an older Peter Parker.

"Into the Spider-Verse", which will be released in the U.S. on December 14, focuses on the life of Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore), who is raised by a policeman dad and lives his life as a Brooklyn teenager. Miles then finds out that he has the radioactive spider-powers and ends up being mentored by reluctant Peter Parker, who is voiced by Jack Johnson.

In the end of the trailer, there is a glimpse of Gwen Stacy. However, this Gwen Stacy, who is voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, is a different version from Gwen Stacy in "The Amazing Spider-Man" movie series and in "The Amazing Spider-Man" comic series. In this movie's universe, Gwen Stacy gets the radioactive spider-powers and turns into Spider-Gwen.

Besides the three main voice cast members, "Into the Spider-Verse" also features Liev Scheiber, who voices the-larger-than-life crime lord Kingpin, Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, who provides the voice for Miles' uncle Aaron, and "Atlanta" star Brian Tyree Henry as the voice of Miles' father Jefferson.

"Into the Spider-Verse" film producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller expressed their satisfaction in choosing the right voice cast members for the movie. "We are lucky to have such an amazing cast of funny, genuine creative souls to populate the Spider-verse. They have generous minds and great big hearts. And they have very talented throats. Which is where their delightful voices come from," they said.

"We can't wait for the world to see Miles Morales on the big screen. He's such a fun and exciting new character, and telling his story through a revolutionary visual style makes for a totally fresh cinematic experience that, if we may say so, is freaking amazing," the producers added.
