AceShowbiz - Lena Dunham and Mindy Kaling have jumped into the "Roseanne" cancellation drama by offering to write parts for the cast.

The revived sitcom was axed on Tuesday, May 29 after star Roseanne Barr posted an ill-advised, racially insensitive tweet about former President Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, leaving her castmates out of work.

But it appears they won't be looking for jobs for long - actresses and writers Kaling and Dunham have both offered to come to the rescue.

"A Wrinkle in Time" star Mindy has tweeted: "Laurie Metcalf and John Goodman let me write things for you", while Girls creator Lena adds: "I will do the spin off of your show starring Darlene's cool kids."

Darlene is Roseanne's daughter in the show, played by Sara Gilbert, who was quick to blast her TV mum following her tweet, calling her remarks "abhorrent".
