AceShowbiz - Will a new alliance be formed in Marvel Cinematic Universe? After the epic superhero team-up in "Avengers: Infinity War", Guardians of the Galaxy could next be seen joining forces with another Marvel character, Deadpool.
Yes, you read it right. It's Deadpool himself a.k.a. Ryan Reynolds who proposed for an onscreen collaboration between his character and the Guardians after "Guardians of the Galaxy" helmer James Gunn tweeted about "Deadpool 2".
"Yesterday I finally saw @deadpoolmovie 2, which I loved, and also the brilliant #Revenge. Two completely different, fantastic films - cinema's alive! Thanks @DavidMLeitch @VancityReynolds @coraliefargeat @MatildaLutz for a great day at the movies," Gunn posted on Sunday, May 27, raving about Reynolds' latest movie.
Reynolds then replied, suggesting for a possible crossover. "Thank you James! Crossover?" he wrote back.

And it appears that Reynolds' wish is reciprocated as Gunn tweeted again in response to the Canadian actor's request, "Yes, please."

Reynolds' suggestion for a Deadpool-Guardians of the Galaxy crossover comes a week after Gunn congratulated "Deadpool 2" for its huge success on its opening weekend. "Enormous congrats to @VancityReynolds, @DavidMLeitch, @RhettReese, @missmorenab & company on Deadpool 2 opening to what looks like over $130 million this weekend. Keep the fun stuff coming!" he wrote in a caption of a photo which mashes up Deadpool and "GOTG" character baby Groot.

A few weeks before, "Avengers: Infinity War", which features Chris Pratt's Peter Quill a.k.a. Star Lord and friends, had a similar feat when it debuted at North American box office with $257.7 million for a worldwide opening weekend of $640.5 million, the biggest of all time. It has so far grossed $1.905 billion worldwide, making it the fourth highest-grossing film of all time.
"Deadpool 2" dethroned "Infinity War" atop the domestic box office after the latter's three-week reign. The "Deadpool" sequel scored the second-best opening for an R-rated film with $125.5 million, behind the first film.
