AceShowbiz - John Legend has heaped praise on royal bride Meghan Markle, Duchess Of Sussex, revealing he was impressed by how she dealt with her family drama in the lead up to her weekend wedding.

The former actress' father embarrassed himself by purposefully posing for paparazzi pictures, and then had to skip the wedding following heart surgery, while her brother and sister used their connections to Meghan to hit the media circus surrounding the Suits star's big day.

But she didn't let all the drama ruin the wedding and was all smiles as she exchanged vows with Prince Harry in Windsor, England on Saturday, May 19 - and Legend liked the way she handled it all.

"I think you don’t choose your family, first of all, as we know, and everybody’s got somebody in their family that might embarrass them at some point, and she’s in the most high profile situation in the world," the singer tells Billboard.

"We all have family we have to deal with and she had to deal with it in the public arena in a way that most of us would never have to, so kudos to her. I think she handled it with so much grace and her family, her mother did too, so I’m happy for her, happy for Harry, and wish them all the best".

As for advice, the happily married All of Me singer urges the royal newlyweds to get down to business - and have a baby.

The father-of-two adds, "I think you just have to listen to each other, love each other, take care of each other, communicate well, and then hopefully they can go off and make some babies, too. That’ll be great".

Legend is married to new mum Chrissy Teigen and the couple announced the name of their newborn son on Sunday. The tot, born last month, will be named Miles Theodore Stephens.
