AceShowbiz - Rejoice, "The Expanse" fans! Just 10 days after the sci-fi series was canceled by Syfy, the series is likely to be revived for a fourth season on Amazon.

It is reported that Amazon Studios is in talk to pick up the critically acclaimed series for a new season.

The news arrives after Syfy decided to can "The Expanse" after 3 seasons. Following the cancellation, producers Alcon Television Group, which fully financed and produced the series, shopped the space drama to other networks.

Meanwhile, fans demanded for a revival for their favorite shows through their #SaveTheExpanse campaign. Amazon and Netflix are among the targeted streaming services during the campaign. It included a petition that has collected 130,000 signatures to date, and a GoFundMe page that collected money for a #Save The Expanse banner to be flown over the Amazon headquarters last week. It looks like the fans' hard work has paid off.

Amazon declines to comment on the report as sources note that the deal hasn't been sealed yet.

"The Expanse" is based on James S. A. Corey's best-selling book series of the same name. Set in a future where humanity has colonized the Solar System, it follows United Nations executive Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo), police detective Josephus Miller (Thomas Jane), and ship's officer Jim Holden (Steven Strait) and his crew as they unravel a conspiracy that threatens peace in the system and the survival of humanity.

"The Expanse" won a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation and nabbed a Saturn Award nomination.
