After the surgery, the 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum takes to Instagram to share a picture of her and her mother.

AceShowbiz - Shannen Doherty is recovering from reconstructive surgery for a mastectomy she had more than two years ago. The former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star has shared a photo of herself in hospital on Instagram, while thanking her mother for being there for her.
"Happy Mother's Day mom," Doherty captioned the photo. "I only bring you to the best places... hospital food... yum. I love you. Thank you for always being there. I'd write more but pain pills are kicking in."
Earlier this month, Shannen revealed she had "banked some blood" ahead of the surgery.
Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2015 and later revealed the disease had spread. As a result she underwent several rounds of chemotherapy as well as a single mastectomy. Last month, she revealed on Instagram that a post-cancer tumour scan came back "elevated."
"I'm staying positive and taking stock of my life," she wrote. "It certainly helps put things in perspective and reminds you of what you learned thru the cancer journey. And I sometimes, need a refresher."
