AceShowbiz - Country star Jessie James Decker's younger brother is recovering after being involved in a serious car crash. Fitness fanatic John James was on the way home from the gym earlier this week (beg May 7) when he lost control of his car after his body began to seize.

"The only way I can describe it is that I was screaming in my own head but couldn't control my body," he recalled to E! News. "I remember thinking there was nothing I could do.

"I was conscious, but it was the smallest amount of consciousness I can describe. I had no idea what was happening. One minute I felt super healthy and on top of the world and the next my car was totalled."

While "Lights Down Low" singer Jessie hasn't yet commented on John's crash, her brother revealed his family were "freaking out" when they heard the scary news.

Admitting he is lucky to be alive, the 23-year-old, who owns a health and fitness company, explained that the near-fatal smash has left him counting his blessings.

"Here's what people don't understand. We all know we're gonna pass away one day, but I guarantee you if really lived like you could die any minute then you'd live a hell of a lot differently," he stated.

John is currently busy planning his upcoming wedding to fiancee Ali, where no doubt 30-year-old Jessie's three children with husband Eric Decker will play a central role.
