AceShowbiz - Rapper T.I.'s Scales 925 restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia has filed for bankruptcy as it faces multiple lawsuits from former employees. The upscale eatery, which is 40 per cent owned by the star, closed down almost two years ago.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast website, T.I.'s business partner Charles Hughes, who also owns 40 percent of the business, filed for bankruptcy on behalf of the firm earlier this month. The court papers list the restaurant's assets as just $5,000 and claim that it has no liabilities. According to the gossip site, Scales 925 has been put on notice regarding allegedly unpaid taxes.

T.I., real name Clifford Harris, and his partners have also been hit by multiple lawsuits filed by disgruntled ex-employees who claim they were not properly paid. Responding to one lawsuit from a former bar manager alleging he wasn't paid a $27,486 default judgement, the rapper's lawyer Albert Chapar Jr. claimed his client wasn't responsible for day-to-day operations including hiring and paying employees.

"He (T.I.) was solely an investor and someone whose name was used to promote the restaurant," Chapar, Jr. told AJC.com via email. Scales 925 was named after T.I.'s birthday (September 25) and zodiac sign (Libra - the scales). It opened to much fanfare in 2015 but closed the following year after facing numerous business problems, including being sued for eviction.

T.I. was recently involved in another restaurant drama after he joined a protest supporting a boycott of another Atlanta eatery, Houston's, whose policies were accused of discriminating against African-Americans. He later negotiated an end to the dispute.
