AceShowbiz - A new actress has been added to the cast of the third season of "Stranger Things". "Haters Back Off" alum Francesca Reale has been cast as a key role in the upcoming new season of Netflix's hit sci-fi series.

Reale will be playing a character named Heather in a recurring basis. Heather is described as a popular lifeguard at the Hawkins community Pool. She will become the center piece of a dark mystery, though the exact details of how she will factor into the story remains kept under wraps.

Reale, who recently wrapped production on the independent movie "Yes God Yes", is set to join a bunch of newly-added cast members for the third season of "Stranger Things". Among them are Cary Elwes and Jake Busey, who are cast as Mayor Kline and Bruce respectively. Mayor Kline is described as a "handsome, slick and sleazy quintessential classic '80s politician," while Bruce is a "journalist for The Hawkins Post with questionable morals and a sick sense of humor."

The third season of the popular series, set in 80s-era fictional small town Hawkins, is said to be featuring a one-year time jump. New forces of evil will also be introduced in the new season.

Millie Bobby Brown reprises her role as Eleven, joining fellow returning castmembers Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp. Also among returning actors are Cara Buono, Dacre Montgomery, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery.

In addition to Reale, Elwes and Busey, new cast members include Maya Thurman-Hawke. The daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke will be portraying a character named Robin, "an alternative girl who is equal parts sharp and playful. Bored with her mundane day job, she just wants a little excitement in her life... and gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a dark secret in Hawkins."

"Stranger Things" is expected to return for season 3 in 2019 on Netflix.
