The Indian actress reveals on 'Good Morning America' that she was in awe of the 'Mamma Mia!' star after watching her speech at the 2017 Golden Globes.

AceShowbiz - Priyanka Chopra was left starstruck after meeting Meryl Streep at the Golden Globe Awards in 2017. The "Quantico" star was in awe of the actress following her rousing Cecil B. DeMille award acceptance speech, in which she spoke about her support for immigrants and women, and she reveals after seeing her backstage with fellow actress Sofia Vergara, she was eager to say hello.

However, their conversation didn't go as planned.

"I don't usually get starstruck, but at the Golden Globes two years ago me and Sofia Vergara were at the same table and you remember when Meryl Streep gave that epic speech. I remember standing on the table being like, 'Yes immigrants, yes women,' feeling very euphoric," she told "Good Morning America" on Thursday, April 26.

"We went backstage and Meryl was having a very deep conversation with someone and me and Sofia were literally standing [next to her]," she added. "Sofia knew her and I was pushing her up front and saying, 'Just go tell Meryl I want a picture'. (But) I made a fool of myself."

"I got a picture. It was wonderful, but I kind of mortified myself," she added. "You know when you speak a lot when you're nervous... Next time I'll be better."
